Welcome To The CABA

The Combat Action Badge Association (CABA) is a non-profit organization that provides crucial resources and support to US Army Soldiers and Veterans who have earned the Combat Action Badge and their loved ones. By becoming a member or donating, you can help fund financial support, job training, education programs, mental health counseling, and support groups for CAB Soldiers and Veterans.

About The CABA

The CABA (Combat Action Badge) Association and the CMBA (Combat Medical Badge) Association Board Of Directors unanimously voted at our respective annual 2024 meeting(s) to merge with CIBA (Combat Infantrymen’s Association) to strengthen solidarity between all the members and communities. The CIBA will now assume the leadership/management role of the two additional associations, bringing their history of leadership, dedicated service, honor, integrity, support and organization to all the members. Over the past year, they developed a state-of-the-art web presence, community, social, communications, and association benefits for it’s membership.

About The Combat Action Badge

The Combat Action Badge (CAB) is a United States military award given to soldiers of the U.S. Army of any rank and who are not members of an infantry, special forces, or medical MOS, for being “present and actively engaging or being engaged by the enemy, and performing satisfactorily in accordance with prescribed rules of engagement” at any point in time after 18 September 2001.

On 2 May 2005, the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army (CSA) approved the creation of the CAB to provide special recognition to U.S. soldiers who personally engaged, or are engaged by, the enemy. The CAB is intended to serve as a companion to the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) and Combat Medical Badge (CMB) and was created to recognize the greatly expanded role of non-infantry soldiers in active, ground combat.

U.S. Army infantrymen or special forces soldiers with the rank of colonel or below and who are a member of a brigade-sized or smaller infantry or special forces unit, receive the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) instead of the CAB.

The Soldier's Creed

I am an American Soldier.

I am a warrior and a member of a team.

I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.

I will always place the mission first.

I will never accept defeat.

I will never quit.

I will never leave a fallen comrade.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.

I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.

I am an expert and I am a professional.

I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.

I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.

I am an American Soldier.

The Soldier's Prayer

I give you all my fears, the darkest thoughts and the troubles of my heart. I lay all these things down to you at the foot of the cross. I choose to take the lightest path to walk this road with you, my comforter and my friend. I put my trust in you.

Lord, be in my dreams, transform them as I sleep. For all the harsh and tragic sights, only you can safely keep. I wait on you to be my lead, my guide and my defence. I serve only you and pray for peace with those we fight against.

Lord Jesus, I ask that your endless grace would surround me every day, for you took all this, the harshest conflict to the cross and rose again.

Dear Lord, guard my mind, my heart and my soul and lead me in the way of hope. As I serve my duty here I lean on your wisdom, your love and your strength, and look forwards to the time when a new day dawns, and I return home to the peace again.

Amen.
